ABOUT THE WIRING MART, SCARBOROUGH’S SOURCE FOR ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES

The Wiring Mart Ltd. was established in 1975 when Al Sullivan, a self-employed master electrician, along with his sons, Glenn and Alvin Jr., opened their small East York shop for sales of electrical products to businesses, contractors and the general public.

May of 1978: The company moved to a larger location at 53 Bertrand Avenue in Scarborough where a 2,500 square foot unit was leased.

April of 1984: A second location was established in Ajax where a 4,000 square foot unit was leased.

February of 1988: The Scarborough location acquired an additional 2,700 square feet.

March of 1995: Al Sullivan sold his interest in the company to his sons Glenn and Alvin Jr.

March of 1997: The Ajax branch was relocated to a newly purchased 6,500 square foot building.

December of 2006: The building in Scarborough was purchased by the company.

November of 2009: Alvin Jr. retired from the company

May of 2011: The Scarborough location’s warehouse and showroom were doubled in size and a magnificent lighting showroom was added.

August of 2015: The Ajax location was closed and relocated to the head office in Scarborough.

July of 2023: Glenn Sullivan takes a well deserved retirement after 48 years of hard work and dedication.

The company is purchased by Ryan Sutton.
